Who is CG Accounting built for?
CG Accounting is built for small and growing businesses that want a clear day-to-day workflow while keeping proper double-entry accounting records underneath.
Is CG Accounting only an invoicing system?
No. Quotes and invoices are part of the workflow, but the system also handles customer receipts, supplier bills and payments, payment planning, banking assistance and reconciliation, VAT accounting, journals, financial periods, credit notes and supplier credits, recurring transaction drafts, action management and financial reports.
What is the Daily Action Centre?
The Daily Action Centre brings accounting work that needs attention into one place, such as overdue customer balances, unreconciled banking, pending approvals, VAT-related items, period-close issues and other exceptions. It is an attention layer over the accounting records rather than a second set of books.
Can recurring invoices and supplier bills be automated?
Yes. Repeat sales invoices and supplier bills can be scheduled on recurring cycles. When the next transaction becomes due, CG Accounting prepares an editable draft for review. It does not silently issue or post the transaction for you.
What does Payment Planning do?
Payment Planning lets you prepare and review intended supplier payments before accounting is posted. An approved plan can hand off into an editable payment draft, but planning alone does not post, allocate or reconcile anything.
What does the Banking Assistant do?
The Banking Assistant works from imported bank evidence to help review possible matches and prepare safe receipt or payment draft handoffs. The bank record remains evidence, while posting, allocation and final reconciliation remain controlled accounting actions.
What do Bank Rules do?
Bank Rules reduce repetitive classification work by reusing approved patterns from earlier banking decisions. A matching rule can suggest a classification or treatment for review, but it does not silently post, allocate or reconcile accounting simply because a rule matched.
How does the short-term cash forecast work?
CG Accounting provides a read-only cash position and short-term outlook across Today, 7, 30, 60 and 90 days using recorded cash plus expected inflows and outflows from authoritative accounting and planning records. Unreconciled bank evidence does not silently rewrite the forecast or the books.
Can I import bank transactions and reconcile them?
Yes. Bank transactions can be imported, duplicate imports are blocked, and reconciliation is assisted with explicit approval so the bank evidence remains connected to the accounting record.
What happens if a posted accounting transaction is wrong?
Posted accounting history is protected. Corrections use controlled reversals or follow-on accounting actions so the original history is not silently rewritten.
Does CG Accounting include financial reports?
Yes. The current accounting core includes a trial balance, income statement, balance sheet, cash-flow reporting, general-ledger drill-through and a read-only short-term cash position and forecast so you can move from recorded results to near-term visibility.
Can CG Accounting handle sales credit notes and supplier credits?
Yes. Sales credit notes and supplier credits are part of the confirmed accounting workflow and retain their links to the underlying accounting history.
Does CG Accounting support VAT?
Yes. The current product supports VAT setup and transaction-level VAT accounting across sales invoices, supplier bills, sales credit notes and supplier credits. Automatic SARS submission or eFiling is not part of the current public feature promise.
How does the 30-day trial work?
Choose Starter, Business or Professional and monthly or annual billing. CG Accounting creates the trial organisation and sends a secure activation email so the owner can choose a password. No payment is collected when the trial is created.
Can I move from spreadsheets or another accounting system?
Yes. You can get started if you are starting fresh, using spreadsheets, working through an accountant or bookkeeper, or moving from another system. Opening balances and the migration approach are reviewed during onboarding rather than assumed automatically.
